Strengthening School Safety: Two New Resource Officers Join the Team

Meet Our New School Resource Officers

Clay County Schools would like to introduce our new School Resource Officers: Robert Belt and Randy Holcomb. SRO Belt will rotate between Big Otter Elementary and Clay Elementary while SRO Holcomb will be responsible for Clay County Middle and Clay County High School.

SRO Belt has spent 24 years in Law Enforcement. He was also hired as a substitute bus driver in Clay County in 2003 and later became a full-time bus driver in 2015.

SRO Holcomb started in law enforcement in 1989 and graduated the state policy academy in 1990. He has worked for multiple sheriffs' departments including being sheriff of Clay County on three separate occasions. In addition to his 30 plus years in law enforcement, SRO Holcomb was a substitute bus driver for Clay County before becoming a full-time bus driver for 7 years.

Clay County Schools are lucky to have these gentlemen join the team as school resource officers. Their additions to the school system were made possible by the citizens of Clay County voting for the passage of the excess levy.
