On February 1, 2025, the Clay County High School Science Bowl Teams traveled to West Virginia University to compete in the Department of Energy’s State Science Bowl. Team members included: Avery Brouillard, Evie Young, Parker Taylor, Sophia Berberich, Jaxon Brown, Alivia Gilliland, Elijah Paxton, Keaira Asbury, Dylan Starcher (not pictured),and Kaden Fitzwater. Managers Makenzie Edwards and Diego Metheny also traveled along with coaches Melody Hubbard and Angela Nichols. Clay County advanced to the quarter final round, a record accomplishment in recent school history!
